Gilchrist signed an extension with Chelsea yesterday that runs until 2026 with an option of an extra year. Chelsea plans to loan him to a Championship club next season where he should get regular playing time.
Gilchrist has not been playing much in the EPL getting a late game sub chance once every 3 games or so. But he has been playing some cup matches and started the season playing regularly in Premier League 2.
